Procedure

How to use this tool

  1. 01

Enter outside dimensions in centimetres, piece count, and total actual kilograms.

  2. 02

    Calculate to compare 4,000, 5,000, and 6,000 cm³/kg scenarios.

  3. 03

Use only the row matching the divisor published for your service.

Useful for

Common planning tasks

  • Carrier-product comparisons
  • Packaging sensitivity checks
  • Air and express planning

Model boundary

Assumptions

  • All packages are identical.
  • Actual weight covers the full entered quantity.
  • No shipment-level rounding is applied.

Operational caution

Limitations

  • Displayed divisors are comparison scenarios, not recommendations.
  • Rates, minimum weights, density tariffs, and oversize rules are not included.

Questions and answers

Does a larger divisor reduce dimensional weight?

Yes. For the same volume, dividing by a larger number produces a lower dimensional weight.

Are these divisors universal?

No. A carrier may use another divisor or a different calculation by product, lane, or contract.

Why compare chargeable weight too?

A divisor change matters only when dimensional weight is above actual weight under the applicable rule.
